Quality checks at a micro-level are easily achieved using computer vision and deflectometry (pattern recognition) technology. An RGB-based vision algorithm is used for colour mismatches, and a unique deflectometry algorithm is used to identify dust-in-paint, orange peels, parting lines, and minute scratches, ensuring a micro-level product quality check of the highest order. The inspections provide unique digital signature analytics to visualise data, making it faster to respond to issues and more accessible to identify enhancements.

The platform utilises state-of-the-art machine vision cameras. Sometimes, up to 18 cameras or more are used, and almost 8000 images are captured in the time it takes for each product to move through the rigging tunnel. The car defect detection process is synchronised to the pre-defined assembly line speeds. The captured images are stitched together to give real-time results with 99.97% accuracy and a defect identification accuracy of up to 50 microns. The impossible accuracy levels are achieved in the controlled environment using learnings from processing over 500 million images yearly.
